Illustrator Carolyn Arcabascio works on a digital painting for Northern Woodlands Magazine

Carolyn Arcabascio is an illustrator, writer, and art educator living in New Hampshire. Inspired by the abundant Lakes Region of her home state, her work explores characters’ connection to place, and the mystery, beauty, and everyday magic that emerge from an immersion in natural spaces. While working predominantly in children’s literature, she is also active in other markets from editorial to tabletop games, to gallery shows across New England.

As an instructor and coordinator for the Graphic Arts program at Lakes Region Community College, Arcabascio approaches education from a decolonial and holistic perspective, which favors discovery, authenticity, and community-awareness within the arts.

In her spare time, she can be found brushing up on her amateur foraging skills, sipping dandelion tea, and wandering local trails with her husband, friends, and dog Greta.

For all publishing work, she is represented by Maria Vicente at P.S. Literary.
